Samsung R451c is a slider phone with a qwerty keypad, an mp3 player and a 1.3 Megapixel camera with editing features.  The slider is a very cool function since the phone opens to reveal a full keyboard for easy texting.   The phone also has a nice look, black with silver accents on the top keypad.

If you listen to music on your cell phone, then you will be pleased with this phone, since it does a pretty good job playing music.  Attach headphones and enjoy.  Battery life and reception are both very good with the Samsung R451C.

The phone is available without a contract and no commitment, so there will never be a termination fee involved. You can also choose between two plans–the unlimited plan ($45) or the 1,000 minutes ($30) plan. This gives more freedom to customize your phone to your own usage habits. The Unlimited plan is pretty much unrivaled in the prepaid space. No other company competes on price and what you get for that price.

Well, not quite.  Industry experts probably envisioned a price war ensuing between the two ultra-competitive wireless service providers.

Verizon lowered the price of its unlimited family talk and text plan to $149.99 (from $229.99!!), which is a huge savings.  I’m sure current Verizon subscribers were happy to see this change occur.

The company also lowered its unlimited nationwide voice plan by $30 (from $99.99 to $69.99).

AT&T plans to make serious price cuts as well.  Things are definitely heating up in the postpaid as well as the prepaid universe.  This puts even more pressure on companies like Straight Talk Wireless and Boost Mobile, which have both been cutting out nice niches as affordable (prepaid) wireless companies.

Verizon Chief Financial Officer John Killian called this move “offensive,” in that it’s about “market opportunity.”
