Motorola Devour for Verizon, A “Solid” Phone Choice, Buy it Cheap
The Motorola Devour, an Android phone for Verizon is a very "solid" phone choice--literally. The Devour is built solid and tough.
It has a very responsive and brilliantly colored touchscreen equipped with Motoblur technology and a very nice pull-out (and it pulls out with a nice solid "thud") physical keyboard.
Devour has an industrial look and a physical weightiness that is no doubt going to polarize opinions of this phone. Overall, the second Verizon Android phone is a good phone.
If you're interested in this phone, you can find it in store locations like Best Buy for about $99. You can find it online from merchants such as Amazon and LetsTalk for $49.99. But the best place to find it is on Wirefly.com, where the Motorola Devour costs only $29.99. This link goes to another post on this blog, not Wirefly. It's the best price out there on this phone.

Buy the Samsung Finesse Phone Online
Samsung Finesse is a pretty hot phone right now. It's a smartphone with a twist. That twist is that it can be used on prepaid phone plans.
Both Straight Talk Wireless and MetroPCS have the Samsung Finesse in their phone lineups. The phone is a little on the expensive side--but hey, it's a smartphone! A lot of prepaid users (and perhaps people who were skeptical of the phone selection for prepaid plans) have gravitated toward the Finesse.
It's a very cool phone with a highly functional and brilliantly colored touchscreen. One place where you can buy the Samsung Finesse online is on eBay. You can sometimes find very good deals on prepaid cell phones at the site.
Why is it smart to buy a prepaid phone on eBay? Since you don't have to sign a contract on prepaid plans with Straight Talk or MetroPCS (or any other prepaid providers for that matter), you can use any compatible handset and just add talk time to it.

MetroPCS ZTE Essenze Prepaid Phone Review
MetroPCS recently release the ZTE Essenze cell phone for use with its prepaid deals. The phone is a basic and affordable cell phone--something that is very important to a lot of MetroPCS prepaid customers.
Part of the allure of prepaid plans is the savings you can get on your phone bills.

ZTE Essenze is a standard slider phone. Through the phone, users have easy access to MetroWeb, MetroPCS' proprietary web browser, and also email.
The phone has bluetooth and GPS for hands-free connectivity (and for finding your way when you're lost). Essenze is also equipped with a basic VGA camera for snapping shots on the go. The nifty (and cost-cutting) "walkie-talkie" feature is also available on this MetroPCS handset.
Essenze is being offered at $59, but the current $40 discount at the site brings the phone cost down to a mere $19.

Straight Talk Prepaid Plans Offer A Lot of Service for Little Cost
Straight Talk Wireless might just have the prepaid cell phone plan you're looking for.
Let's do a quick run-through of what Straight Talk has to offer.
First of all, there are two plans you can purchase. The first one is the $30 All You Need prepaid phone plan, which will give you 1,000 minutes of talk time, ample web browsing (if you use your phone to access the internet), and 1,000 text messages. At $30, this plan has a lot of value, especially when compared to some of the contract plans out there. There isn't a contract plan that matches up.

The second plan, and the real star here, is the Unlimited Plan, which does not just have a clever name--it is actually an unlimited plan. With this plan, you get to use your phone as much as you want for voice, text, and web browsing. That's right--with this plan, you get UNLIMITED web browsing, talk time, and texting.
In addition, both plans run on Verizon's very strong prepaid network and also include unlimited 411 calls (which is a big money-saver in its own right). See more details about Straight Talk's prepaid plans (at the official site).
If you're looking for a very affordable plan that offers a lot of features, then have a closer look at Straight Talk's prepaid plans. Chances are, they have more to offer than most plans out there.

Motorola Devour: Verizon’s New Android Phone Review

Motorola Devour for Verizon: What We Know
The Android 1.6 phone will be the first Verizon Wireless handset that utilizes Motoblur user interface technology, which is a nerdy way of saying the phone will give you easy and seamless access to Twitter, and Facebook in a live-streaming capacity.
Status updates, messaging, and email are all integrated into the desktop for easy access. Devour will be released in March, 2010--so it's not too far away.
Here's what the Motorola Devour's got for ya:
3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen, 320x480 pixels (resolution is comparable to the iPhone)
Touch-sensitive navigation pad
8GB microSD card
Bluteooth
3 megapixel camera with digital zoom (supposedly)
The phone ships with Android 1.6, but there will very likely be an update to 2.1
A Verizon Voice and Data plan will be necessary along with purchase of the Devour.
At this point, pricing hasn't been talked about, but will most likely be in the $199.99 range, placing it against comparable devices.
In case you missed it, here is the Megan Fox Devour Superbowl ad.

T-Mobile G1 with Google – Phone on Sale for $14.99

T-Mobile G1 was the first Android phone to be released in the market, and for a first run product, actually exceeded expectations.
T-Mobile G1 with Google (made by HTC) runs on Android.
This phone has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display, 3G connectivity, web browser (for surfing the web and watching youtube videos), and a bunch of other good stuff.
This first trial run with an Android phone proves that Google knew what it was doing with its user-friendly open-source Android software. The G1 has some deficiencies, like its size and some awkward styling cues, but overall it's a game-changer.
High quality touchscreen and a high level of usability. And you're not locked into Apple's rules. This phone runs on an open platform with more freedom. You can also download Apps from the Android Market.
If you're looking for an Android phone on T-Mobile, then this phone might be a good one to look at--especially at the price of $14.99 at BestCarrierDeals.com
*Update: This phone is now available for free (not $14.99) which works out to a savings of $479.99.
T-Mobile G1 with Google - Black (T-Mobile)
- Touchscreen & QWERTY Keyboard
- Google Web Search with one-click
- Real, full HTML web browsing
- Integrated Google Maps
- T-Mobile 3G HSDPA with Wi-Fi
- 3MP camera with auto focus and photo-sharing capabilities
- Amazon MP3 store
- Android Market: App Store
Motorola Backflip Cell Phone Demo
See a couple videos of Motorola Backflip demonstrations from CES 2010 below in this post.
Motorola Backflip has a 3.1 touchscreen, a backward-folding full QWERTY keypad, and it's an Android device. This phone is interesting because it has a trackpad for navigation on the back of the screen component, which looks at least somewhat useful, even though when you use it, you will not be looking at it.
To me, this phone feels a little "showy" and slightly awkward. I am somewhat attracted to the way you can physically configure the phone into several different positions, like the display-friendly table top mode, which reminds me a little bit of the Verizon Razzle phone.
What do you think about this device?
