Droid Bionic: Verizon 4G LTE Dual Core Processor Phone

The new Droid Bionic is the first Verizon Android phone to have 4G LTE connectivity and a dual core processor. This makes this phone pretty darn powerful and it’s sure to be a fun one to carry around. The Bionic has a 4.3 inch touch screen, an 8 megapixel camera, and 1 GB of RAM.

This Verizon Android phone is clearly a top performer and has a lot of people frothing at the mouth. But does it live up to the hype? That’s the real question.

Read a lengthy review of the Droid Bionic (before you think about buying it) at Phandroid. See another at engadget. It’s not a prepaid phone, but we felt like writing about it anyways since it’s a very nice looking Android phone and we like to keep up on what Verizon is up to.

Update: It looks like Straight Talk Wireless, the TracFone prepaid phone brand, likes what has happened so far with its first Android phone, the Samsung Galaxy Precedent, because now it is releasing a second follow-up Android phone: LG Optimus Q. This phone is $30 more than precedent, but if you prefer LG phones to Samsung, you’re in luck.

AT&T and Verizon Launch New Prepaid Plans: Any Good?

Verizon and AT&T are both releasing new prepaid plans. In the case of Verizon, we’ve seen the Unleashed plan as it was released in several markets including California and Florida. Now, it appears that the Verizon Unlimited plan will be released on a wider scale across the country.

Verizon Prepaid Plan

The Verizon plan costs $50 for unlimited talk, text, and web. This seems to be a good deal even considering that for $5 less, you can get unlimited everything from Straight Talk (which has its first Android Straight Talk phone out now). Still, if the Verizon prepaid plans have the robust Verizon network buttressing them, this could be another factor to consider. You can learn more about the Verizon plan at Verizon.com

The competition here (in other words, the brands you should also look at) include Straight Talk (as I mentioned above), MetroPCS with its $40 unlimited plan, and Boost Mobile with its $50 unlimited prepaid plan that starts to cost less and less the longer you subscribe.

AT&T GoPhone Plan: Not Unlimited Plan

AT&T’s new GoPhone plan isn’t an unlimited plan, but it actually looks quite good for those who text a lot and don’t rely on calling as much. The plan includes 240 nationwide voice minutes and unlimited text messaging for $25. It’s not that bad if you think about it. Unlimited text messaging plus a decent amount (okay rather small amount) of minutes for only $25. For $20 more, you can get unlimited everything from Straight Talk or MetroPCS.

If you’re comfortable at that $25 rate and don’t want to go above it, you better make sure you don’t talk to0 long-winded on your phone. You’re going to need to be a big time texter to make it worthwhile. If that’s what you are, then you’re in luck.

Verizon Unleashed Unlimited Plan Phone Lineup

Verizon has recently released three phones to their specific Unleashed unlimited prepaid cell phone plan. These phones vary in price and features, but they all have great, top quality options and are great phones. The three phones available for Verizon’s unleashed plan are the LG Accolade, the Pantech Caper and the LG Cosmos. All of these phones are full of features and abilities and are some of the greatest prepaid phones in the market, especially for a great unlimited plan like Verizon’s unleashed plan.

The LG Accolade is available for $39.99. This Verizon unleashed phone includes a 1.3 megapixel camera. With the push of a few buttons, you are able to share pictures via e-mail or post them to social networking sites straight from your phone. The LG Accolade has blue tooth capability as well as a media center.

The Verizon media center includes tons of features such as games, location-based graphic applications, ringtone creators and digital photo sharing tools. The LG Accolade also features a VZ Navigation GPS system to get you where you need to go.

The Pantech Caper is available for $79.99. The features of this phone include a 1.3 megapixel camera as well with capabilities to share photos via e-mail and social networking straight from your Pantech Caper. The Pantech Caper also includes a hands-free speaker system so that you can stay safe driving or doing household chores. A QWERTY keyboard is available, perfect for any texting lover. This phone is also equipped with the Verizon media center.

The LG Cosmos is the most technologically advanced phone available for Verizon’s unleashed plan. Complete with a slide out QWERTY keyboard, blue tooth capabilities, the Verizon media center, a 1.3 megapixel camera with seamless sharing, VZ navigation with GPS and blue tooth capabilities, the LG Cosmos is perfect for the media lover. All three phones are pretty good options for Verizon Unleashed, but still, I hope Verizon decides to “unleash” a few more phones to choose from to use with this plan. Verizon Unleashed: Unlimited Talk, Text, and Web

Verizon Unleashed is the new prepaid unlimited plan released by Verizon. You have to love all of these new prepaid plans coming out if you’re a prepaid user because it means there is more competition, more choices, and more opportunity to find better deals and save more money. Verizon’s new prepaid unlimited plan provides purchasers with unlimited talk, web browsing, and text messaging all at the low price of $50 per month. This is a pretty low price for all of these offerings. In addition, you should remember that since Verizon Unleashed is a prepaid plan, you will not have to sign a contract, which is always a good thing because it means more freedom for customers.

The Verizon Unleashed unlimited plan comes out at a time when there is no shortage of other prepaid companies providing very good plans. Boost Mobile has an unlimited plan that costs the same and goes down in price the longer you use it (due the the new “shrinkage” offer). Straight Talk Wireless has an unlimited plan that is five bucks cheaper and actually uses Verizon’s network in some areas. Net10 has an unlimited plan that really is not on people’s radars but it exists nonetheless. Verizon will have good footing because it is such a large profile brand. It will probably have no problem selling this plan at this price because it is just what many cell phone users are looking for.

The Verizon Unlimited plan may just be able to edge out the competition (like Straight Talk Wireless) simply because of the strength of its brand name. This would not be surprising considering both brands will be side to side in many retailers across the country. The best thing for you to do when you’re deciding which plan and phone you want is to find the one that has the best service where you are located. Verizon Unleashed may be a perfect fit for you if the signal strength is strong where you live and if you want an unlimited plan. I still think that Straight Talk will keep a strong hold on many customers even though Verizon will be throwing its hat into the ring. It’s just a strong brand and has become successful so quickly. People love the $45 Unlimited Straight Talk plan, just like I am sure many will love the new Verizon one.

There are three phones that work on this plan currently. They are the LG Cosmos, LG Accolade, and Pantech Caper. All three are solid phones and affordable. The Accolade is the cheapest at $39.99 followed by the Caper at $79.99 and the Cosmos at $99.99.

Remember that if you aren’t going to use A LOT of talk time and texting, then you may not need this plan.

The much-anticipated LTE Verizon phone, Droid Charge, has been released. It’s a beautiful phone and will be a bestseller very soon. Verizon and Samsung have done it again. This phone can also share 3G/4G data with up to 10 devices through wifi. Verizon Releases Palm Pixi Prepaid Phone

If you must have a Verizon prepaid phone, then a good option (or perhaps one of the only true options) is the Palm Pixi. Yes, you can now get the Palm Pixi with Verizon’s prepaid plans. It costs $79.99, which is small when you compare it to one of the other smart phones on Verizon prepaid, Droid Incredible, which costs $345.00. With prepaid phones you don’t get the benefit of a subsidized price, but I think some companies will change their tune and start doing this. Until that day comes, there is the prepaid Palm Pixi Verizon phone.

In other Verizon news, it looks like the Thunderbolt and XOOM will be released concurrently. If you’re looking forward to either of these two phones, you won’t have to wait too much longer. Those of you waiting for the Verizon iPhone 4, see how you can easily spend $1,000 on a new one if you aren’t careful.

In other news on the contract side of things, the LG Octane is currently being offered for free with a new or continued Verizon contract. FierceWireless has an interview with Verizon’s chief marketing officer with some interesting insight into Verizon and the wireless industry as a whole.

LG Revolution 4G Verizon Phone Review

LG Revolution is a new 4G Verizon LTE phone was shown for the first time at this year’s CES trade show. The LG Revolution runs Android 2.2 and will be released in the first half of this year.

It has a 5 mp camera (front facing, which I love) and a 4.3 inch display. It’s a little thick of a phone (in fact, it’s similar in shape to the Droid X), but I don’t mind the weightiness of a good solid well made phone in my pocket. It gives me the feeling that the phone will last. The LG Revolution for Verizon is definitely a high end phone and it’s one that we anxiously await to get our hands on.

As you can see, the LG Revolution is a BIG phone, but I don’t mind it. In fact, I like the big screen that facilitates easier article reading and video watching.
