LG 620 is a slider phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera.  Sure, a 1.3 mp camera isn’t exactly going to win you any photography contest prizes, but if what you’re trying to do is save money on your prepaid bill, then you don’t need something Ansel Adams would have used to document the Rockies on film.

The LG 620 has an MP3 player as well, which is pretty much a necessity these days.  Everyone likes to listen to music on their phones these days, and if you don’t, then you don’t need to use this function.

This phone also has Bluetooth, mobile web, FM radio, picture messaging, text messaging, hands-free speaker, voicemail, call waiting, ringtones, 9 day standby time, and battery time of five hours.

With the $30 Straight Talk plan, you can get this phone for $99 with your first months payment included.  The plan grants you 1,000 minutes of talk time, 1,000 text messages, and 30 mb of web browsing, which should give all the phone access you need to get you through the month.

Since Straight Talk is a prepaid wireless company, there is no contract to sign.  All you need to do is buy the phone and get started.

If you’re looking for a new Straight Talk prepaid phone, my choice would be the Samsung r355c.  I wrote a longer review, which you can read Here.  It’s a very solid phone that goes by the nickname of “qwerty,” since the centerpiece of the phone is a prominent keyboard.

Samsung r355c greatly resembles BlackBerry style phones.  It has a great look and is about as solid a phone you can buy with a prepaid plan.

The phone works with both of Straight Talk’s plans, which cost $30 for 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts a month, and $45 for unlimited use of voice, text, and web.  Both deals are very good options for people looking for prepaid plans, and since they operate on the Verizon Wireless network, they are very dependable and high quality.

But you might want to start your prepaid phone search online at Straight Talk.  This wireless service provider has a lot to offer.  Both of its plans are really good and a lot of people are signing up for them everyday.

One of the current Straight Talk phones available is the LG 290C.  If you’re looking for a basic cell phone at a good price, this phone might just do the trick for you.

It’s about as basic as they come, but you can save some serious money with this phone and the plans you can choose from Straight Talk.

The first plan costs $30 and gives you 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text messages to use as you see fit throughout the month.  That’s a lot of time.  1,000 minutes!  I use about a quarter of that.

The second plan costs $45 and gives you unlimited text, voice, and web.  Unlimited web browsing is a very cool feature and if you want this you might want to look at the Samsung r355c, which is a higher end phone than the LG 290C.

Straight Talk and AT&T Network Join Forces

Straight Talk has been a proven success for Wal-Mart, which is where the bulk of Straight Talk phones and plans are sold (although you can purchase them online at the official site: www.StraightTalk.com).

As such, according to the WSJ, the company is now opening the Straight Talk brand for use with AT&T’s network.  Previously, Straight Talk phones only worked on Verizon, which is the top network in the United States.

This is a big play and underscores the success of alternative prepaid phone plans in the market today.

That’s how it is with Straight Talk phones–the prepaid phones that you may have read about here in another post or on another blog.  If you haven’t heard about them, I suggest you read some of the other articles on this site about Straight Talk or go directly to the official web site to see if you can be saving money with this brand of prepaid phones.

The company claims that you can be saving up to $850 a year on your phone bill if you get a Straight Talk phone.  That’s quite a bit of money.  It’s always nice to save money–especially when you are getting all that you need out of your phone plan.

Wouldn’t that be ridiculously awesome if you could save that much?  I think I would buy myself a new bike or surf board or take a trip somewhere if I knew I was going to have an extra 800 bucks lying around.

It obviously depends on your current cell phone costs how much you would save using a Straight Talk phone, but it is true that both of the prepaid plans the company offers look very attractive.

For $30 a month you get 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts.

For $45 a month, you get unlimited talk, text–AND web!!!  Unlimited web browsing is what throws this plan over the edge for me, but not everyone needs to browse the web form their phone.

I like a few of Straight Talk’s phones as well, including Samsung Finesse and Samsung r355c.  I also hold the RAZR in a special place in my heart–not sure why, I guess I just like the phone.

In this instance, we compare Straight Talk Wireless to Net10 Wireless.

One thing you should know is that Straight Talk Wireless and Net10 Wireless are both good companies to be considering, so if you find yourself at this particular crossroads, you are generally in a pretty good spot.

We will keep this very basic and not too lengthy, so I will get right to the point.

If you are going to use 250 minutes of talk time or less each month, you are probably best selecting a phone from Net10 Wireless because you will most likely be able to save the most money.  Net10 phones are for people who are more frugal with their minutes.

If you are going to be using over 250 minutes per month, Straight Talk Wireless may be a better option since for $30 flat rate, you can get 1,000 minutes of talk time, 1,000 text messages, and ample web browsing time to use each and every month.

If you need more talk time than that, Straight Talk Wireless has an unlimited plan which costs $45 per month.

Both plans have their pros and cons, so choose wisely.
