The way it actually works is you can become a member and request to hear the proper pronunciation of a certain word and someone who speaks it may get back to you with a recording.

Forvo seems like a very cool site–at least an interesting idea.  The main users would obviously be people studying new languages.

You can also embed words or phrases onto your own website.  If that’s something you were looking to do.
