I really like all the things that Straight Talk is doing and the fact that more and more Android devices are being made available. I was getting pretty bored with prepaid phones a couple of years ago, so it’s good to see that there are a whole smattering of new higher end phones. There’s a pronounced shift going on right now. The shift is that most people no longer feel that they need to have a contract in order to have a cool phone. Cricket and Virgin Mobile, both prepaid companies, will shortly have the iPhone 4. It’s a great shift and one that is making me as a prepaid user pretty happy to look forward to the phone releases that will come over the next couple of years. I really like the new trends in the prepaid industry because now you can get Android phones and other smart phones with prepaid plans. It’s nice to be able to use an affordable unlimited plan with a phone such as Optimus Black because it is a pretty fun phone to use and has a pretty good camera/video recording with auto flash. There are other things that make it a good option like the fact it has a really nice touch screen, but I guess my overall point here is that soon enough we will be able to use almost any phone on prepaid plans. We’ve seen recently that Virgin added iPhones to its lineup and Cricket has done the same. It’s only a matter of time before we have the choice between prepaid and contract with any phone we choose. Straight Talk, Tracfone, and other companies are truly leading the way into the new prepaid and wireless phone frontier.
