Android for Straight Talk
The first Straight Talk Android phone has been released into the wild and it’s looking quite ferocious. You can find the Samsung Galaxy Precedent Android phone for sale at StraightTalk.com. The phone is shipping and you will get it very soon if you order it on the website. The Precedent has a touch screen, runs on Android 2.2, lets you manage email, and even gives you directions and responds to voice commands. It’s the best Straight Talk phone available right now and at a price of $149, it is a very good deal, especially when compared to the other Straight Talk smart phones, which are closer to $200 per handset. I don’t mean to throw the Nokia 6790 or Nokia E5 under the bus because they are both good phones, but I just think the Android Precedent has a little bit more appeal than the Nokia operating system.

There is one more option for people who want to spend $99 for a good Straight Talk phone and that option is the Samsung t528G touchscreen phone. Released a few months prior to the Samsung Precedent, for a little while the Samsung t528G was the only Straight Talk touch screen phone. At a price of only $99, this phone can be your and will be sent with free shipping to your home or office.
One of the interesting things with the Samsung t528G is that you can choose between the two Straight Talk plans, whereas with any of the smart phones (Nokia E71, E5, and 6790) or the Android phone you have to use the Unlimited plan, which is the one you would want for those phone anyways. But…with this phone, you can select the less expensive plan, which gives you 1,000 minutes of talk, 1,000 text messages, and 30 megabytes of data transfer for web browsing. So if you don’t think you want or need the Straight Talk unlimited plan, then you might want to consider this phone. I still think that the new Straight Talk android phone is a much better phone as is the Nokia E5, but I wouldn’t rule this phone out. It’s just not my first choice of a phone from ST.
