straight talk prepaid Straight Talk Wireless makes a very bold claim on its website.  The company claims that if you use Straight Talk phones, you can save $850 off of your cell phone bill over the course of the year.

Wouldn’t that be ridiculously awesome if you could save that much?  I think I would buy myself a new bike or surf board or take a trip somewhere if I knew I was going to have an extra 800 bucks lying around.

It obviously depends on your current cell phone costs how much you would save using a Straight Talk phone, but it is true that both of the prepaid plans the company offers look very attractive.

For $30 a month you get 1,000 minutes and 1,000 texts.

For $45 a month, you get unlimited talk, text–AND web!!!  Unlimited web browsing is what throws this plan over the edge for me, but not everyone needs to browse the web form their phone.

I like a few of Straight Talk’s phones as well, including Samsung Finesse and Samsung r355c.  I also hold the RAZR in a special place in my heart–not sure why, I guess I just like the phone.

If you’re looking for a way to save money, have a look at the prepaid phones from Straight Talk.

I would love to be able to save $800 a year. To some this may not be much, but for someone struggling to pay their bills, this is truly a blessing. Not only does Straight Talk offer these incredibly priced plan options, I’ve heard their service/coverage is amazing. They use AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon networks depending on your model phone and the coverage available in your area.

@thrillerrocks – Did you end up getting Straight Talk? How are you liking it? Which network are you covered under? I hope you went with one of their less expensive phones to save even more money.

$800 a year is definitely worth considering! if you can get a nice smartphone upfront then you will have paid it off in about 4 months with your “savings” from switching to pre paid and then from then on it’s just money on your pocket :) this definitely sounds like something worth checking out to me..
