Straight Talk has been doing some big things lately (as have some of its prepaid brethren have also done). They’ve let out the Straight Talk Nokia E5 3G/wifi prepaid smart phone (you gotta love all of these new prepaid smart phones). By the way, in case you don’t know, prepaid also mean no-contract. These days there’s just no reason to sign a contract unless you want an iPhone or a BlackBerry. You can get one of the three brand new Straight Talk smart phones: Nokia 6790, Nokia E5, and Nokia E71. All three are smart phones with 3G/wifi. You also get the full power of the Straight Talk Unlimited plan behind you when you get one of these phones.
Here’s the Nokia E5. Not bad looking ‘eh? Buy it or see all three new phones at StraightTalk.com
Read more on the Nokia E5 3G smart phone. Also, if you’re thinking about buying one of these phones, have a look at a lengthy comparison of the Nokias E5 and E71. Also, you might be interested to know that Straight Talk now has its own Android prepaid phone, the Samsung Galaxy Precedent that will work with the Unlimited $45 plan. So if you’re looking for an Android phone that runs on a prepaid plan, there is one more to throw in the mix.
Straight Talk Wireless is a brand of very inexpensive prepaid phone plans owned by TracFone, which is the largest pay as you go phone provider in the U.S.
The two Straight Talk plans run on the Verizon network, which means customers have fewer missed calls and better nationwide service than with most other prepaid plans.
The companies have come together to offer a great service. For TracFone, it’s an extension of their brand and another line of products that offer cheap cell phone service.
Have a look at the Nokia E71 smart phone below. It’s got a really nice, clean, almost sophisticated look. Read a review of the Nokia E71.
For Verizon Wireless, this venture is a deeper step into the prepaid world. It’s been good for both the companies and consumers alike.
As I mentioned above, Straight Talk has two plans. One of them is for 1,000 minutes of talk time, 1,000 text messages, unlimited 411 calls, Verizon network, and 30 mb of data transfer. It’s a solid plan that costs only $30.
The second plan grants users unlimited use of talk time, text messaging, and web browsing! You can browse the web all you want with Straight Talk plans. For optimal web browsing, have a look at the Samsung Finesse prepaid smartphone that was recently added to the phone lineup.
The unlimited plan doesn’t break the bank either, since it costs only $45 per month. These plans are giving most of the other prepaid carriers a run for their money and scooping up new customers every single day. The prepaid plan is really strong and is in contention with the other top unlimited plans out there. And there is quite a bit of competition out there, so keep your eyes open. But you definitely can’t do yourself wrong by having a look at the current Straight Talk promotions and deals. You can even often find free Straight Talk phones. At the moment of writing this article (or I should say updating this article on August 9, 2011), there are two free Straight Talk phones. The LG 420G and the Samsung T255G. I’ll be honest, these aren’t the most amazing phones. In fact, they’re pretty low end, but they’re being offered for no charge, so if you’re a super-frugal phone user (and there are a lot of you out there who just want to get a phone and pay as little as possible) then have a look at these deals.
They are available online (only online) at StraightTalk.com
Above is the Nokia 6790, the third of the newly released Straight Talk smart phones. The above photo is the back of the phone, and you can see the camera on the upper right. Here’s another picture of the 6790.

Everybody seems to be flocking to these “unlimited” deals. A recent study I read a while ago suggested that most people use their phones much less than is needed by their current plans – and yet everybody is now going “unlimited”.
Just a waste of money, if you ask me. I will sign up for unlimited when it gets to $15 a month because that is what my NET10 prepaid phone is costing me. Why should I spend more if I don’t USE more?
Good point Carter. Regardless of how good a deal may seem to be, it only makes sense if it works for you. If Straight Talk doesn’t provide the service you need, you should look elsewhere. It’s a waste to have unlimited minutes–and to pay for it–if you only use 200 minutes a month. Net10 would be a better option since you can get the service cheaper. Net10 is a company for moderate phone users.
If u have mobile to mobile on your verizon plan does straight talk users count as mobile to mobile
Having an unlimited plan has been great for me. For instance, when conducting business calls, I do not have to worry about using up “all” of my minutes when I am on hold, nor do I have to wait to make free calls at the time specified by contract. I have had StraightTalk for 9 months and it is worth every cents. I was paying about $200.00/monthly with Sprint for a family plan. How I pay $120.00 for a family plan. My son can text, download, sent IM and pictures, and talk without worrying about cost. I LOVE STRAIGHT TALK CELL PHONES PLANS.
The coverage on ST is truely amazing, i haven’t dropped a call in over 3 months… Now I know why, thanks! You gotta love getting postpaid coverage at prepaid prices:)
I’m not the “unlimited” kind of cell phone user myself. But, Straight Talk does offer a better plan for those whose usage needs are somewhere in the middle which is the all you need plan. In my opinion, I felt they also offered a better selection of phones with features that I was looking for. That good news for consumers, is we now have many prepaid companies to pick from.
You bring up a good point. More to choose from is always a good thing, especially when you’re picking a phone! I agree.
